City Council meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at City Hall.
Planning Commission meetings are held on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of each month at 7:00 pm at City Hall. Zoning permits are required for all building activity. Contact City Hall for further information.
Other Sumpter Committees: Planning Commission, Sumpter Historic Aesthetic Committee (SHAC), Volunteer Fire Department, Women's Auxiliary, Masonic Lodge, Friends Of The Dredge, Sumpter Valley Railway Association, Sumpter Municipal Museum (SVMA), and Snowmobile clubs.
The Sumpter Valley Medical Team responds to all Emergency Medical 911 calls.
Sumpter hosts a Community Flea Market on Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day week-ends.
The City has vendor spaces available at the Fairgrounds. Information regarding spaces, sizes and costs may be obtained by calling 541-894-2354 and leaving a message. Your call will be returned.
The Fairgrounds is also available for weddings, reunions, etc., and is surrounded by breathtaking views. There are rest rooms and shower facilities, as well as water and electrical hook-ups. The property was previously owned by the Sumpter Valley Community Association and was donated to the City of Sumpter in September, 2001.
The Community Center was the Sumpter Elementary School from 1954 into the 1980's. In 2002, the Baker School District donated the school & property to the City of Sumpter.
The City has updated the facility and it is used by the Fire Department Auxiliary, Bingo, spaghetti feeds, club meetings, bazaars and more. The Community Center is available for a fee for those wishing to hold a reunion, large family dinners, meetings, etc.
