Lynn Bean
About Lynn Bean
Lynn was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. She is a graduate of the Illustration Department of Kendall School of Design at Grand Rapids. Her career began in fashion illustration, in her native state, as well as the San Francisco Bay area.
Lynn's many watercolor or acrylic paintings are of Wildlife, Native American subjects, and Southwest art and many are combined with hand tooled copper. These works of art are featured in National Exhibits and Galleries or shops around the world. A number of Lynn's works have been featured in Arizona Wildlife Review magazine.
She now publishes her own Giclée prints with ProShot Imaging. Her late artwork combines hand tooled copper, feathers, leather, horsehair, and bead work, to produce interesting 3-D effects in watercolor and dimensional work. Recent media include acrylics on canvas and hand tooled enameled copper, dedicated to Wildlife, Equine, and Native American composites.
Involvement with the Trail of Painted Ponies has brought her to dimensional art, with the horse figurine as a canvas. Replicas of her first Trail original, "Fetish Pony", were released, Spring 2005. Her next Trail original, "Copper Enchantment", was a finalist for the Native Art of Horse Painting in 2006. A third figurine, "Gingerbread Pony", was released for the 2007 Christmas Season.
Lynn's latest Trail piece, "Bunk House Bronco," is a top ten finalist for the 2007 America The Beautiful Contest. The 4th place winning entry was announced at the "Lexington Kentucky Horse Park", was in July 2007. "Bunk House Bronco" won the President's Choice finalists' award. Look for this pony to be released sometime in 2008.
January of 2008, Lynn's design called "Winter Song" was chosen for the new four seasons pony set.
Lynn has incorporated some of her birds in watercolor in a winter setting upon this pony. Look for this to come out in the 2008 Christmas season.
